The Buzzard is the brainchild of the bass legend John Entwistle and Warwick founder Hans-Peter Wilfer. The two originally collaborated on this bass in 1985 when John asked for help to create a bass built on his unique ideas of how it should look and play. The wild body shape and neck-through design form a distinctive bass guitar that sounds as extreme as it looks. The exotic appeal doesn't stop there.

The Zebrano body is complemented by an Ovangkol neck with a Wenge fingerboard, complete with numeric fret markers (actual numbers) custom inlaid of paua abalone. And the headstock is unmistakably unique with its inline tuning heads. The Buzzard JE Signature stirs more than just the eyes with its killer pickup configuration. Two pairs of active MEC precision/precision pickups provide ample tonal ranges and nearly infinite possibilities.

Controlled by 2-band active MEC electronics, this commemorative bass is sure to play like butter in the hands of any player. Victor Bailey Jazz Bass

The beautifully crafted Victor Bailey Jazz Bass guitar incorporates the finest in design and electronics-as specified by Bailey himself.

The sleek, exotic-looking body has koa and rosewood over mahogany; the maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard with PosiflexTM graphite neck support rods, abalone dot inlays, rolled fingerboard edges and highly detailed nut and fret work. Special Design NoiselessTM pickups add warmth and low end, complementing the hardwood body's natural clarity and brightness and producing an extremely dynamic tonal range. The circuitry has been tweaked at the input stage (pre-shape, boost and EQ settings) to enhance the unique sonic nature of the woods. Bass EQ is centered at 40Hz ± 12dB with a 4dB per-octave slope; treble is centered at 8 kHz ± 10dB with a 2dB per-octave slope (treble cut serves more as a passive control for warm organic tones); mid-control is centered at 500Hz and +10dB and -15dB with a wide-band slope creating a distinctive voice. For maximum headroom, the circuit has an 18-volt power supply.

Other features include gold-plated hardware, Fender/Schaller® Deluxe lightweight tuning machines, and a Bailey caricature graphic on the headstock.

The position of the pickup gives the bass a surprisingly varied range of sounds - from classic Musicman punch to growly Fender Jazz bass sounds - ideal for grungey old school funk to smooth, rounded dub sounds....everything you'd expect to get from the punk-funk bass master!

The unique high mass 'strings through body' bridge gives the bass great sustain and along with the solid Alder body and Maple neck, the bass has natural deep lows with a zingy top end.

Flea promises that "If they don't play great, they're not going to the stores. We'll set up every bass and make sure it's perfect".
